Modern Slavery
Policy Statement

Introduction

Our statement sets out that Mushroom Man.co.uk Ltd. is aware of potential modern slavery risks related to its business and have put steps in place that are aimed at ensuring our business is free from slavery and human trafficking.

Business

Mushroom Man.co.uk Ltd. is a Fresh Produce Wholesaler supplying fresh mushrooms and goods to the Food Service industry within London and the surrounding area.

Our Supply Chain

Our supply chain includes the provision of fresh produce and packaging materials.

Zero Tolerance

The Company recognises that modern slavery is a crime that can take many forms such as: slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking. The Company has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery both within its own businesses and in its dealings with other organisations.

Due Diligence Process

As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk:
Where possible we build long standing relationships with suppliers and make clear our expectation of business behaviour. With regards to National or International supply chains we ask these entities to sign an agreement with us confirming that they have suitable anti-slavery and human trafficking policies and processes in place and comply with the Modern Slavery act. We expect each entity in the supply chain as it is not practical for us (and every other participant in the chain) to have a direct relationship with all links in the supply chain. The Company would address any failure by a supplier to meet the Company’s standards on a case-by-case basis. Organisations that fail to meet the Company’s standards may jeopardise their ability to continue to do business with the Company and, ultimately, the Company may cease trading with any such supplier.

Reporting

The Company actively encourages its employees to report any activity they believe to be unlawful and/or in breach of the Company’s policies and standard as set out in the Company’s Whistle Blowing policy.

Training

To ensure a high level of the understating of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we ensure the relevant members of staff are aware of, understand and agree to our policy on Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking.
All Directors have been briefed on the subject.

The Directors are responsible for compliance in their respective department and for their supplier relationships. The statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our company’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the current financial year.
