Description & Flavour

The very popular portobello mushroom is pretty similar to the flat mushroom in size and texture but has a brown, almost speckled colour to its cap. The skin across the cap also separates and breaks, giving the look of hen feathers. The portobello is considered the most mature of the Agaricus mushrooms and because of this have a slightly stronger taste. They can make a good alternative to Hen of the Woods.
